A wedding MC is the ‘go-to’ guy or gal of your wedding reception, or, as I like to call it, the ‘Reception Wrangler’.

Your RW is in charge of keeping the party going off without a hitch, making sure that YOU and your people are having the time of their lives.

And... if (touch wood) the train comes of the track, your RW is your ultimate wing-man, picking up the pieces behind the scenes.

Oh, that's a lot of responsibility...

While picking a pal or relative is a crowd favourite, just remember there’s a lot sitting on the shoulders of that person. They may be limiting their booze, stressing over time or feeling like a fish out of water. There’s a heap more involved than your ‘slightly-funny-friend’ providing one-liners on the day.

Having a GOOD TIME

Well, in a simplified version, a lot! But here’s some of the ‘big ticket items’.

  •  Meet with YOU prior to the wedding
  •  Chat to all your vendors in advance and on the night – making sure we’re on the same page and that things run as smoothly as a babies bottom
    •  What time’s food being served?
    • When’s sunset/golden light photos?
    • Is the muso ready to kick off your first dance?
  •  Put together a ‘run sheet’ and make sure that everything is running on time (or doing some quick thinking to get things back on track!)
  •  Wrangling the Reception; think – geeing up the crowds, housekeeping, intros, speeches, games etc etc
  •  Getting those VIBES HIGH. No cringy cliches on my watch, thanks!
  •  Facilitating any extras – cake cutting, toasts, games, dances, tosses
  •  Making sure you and your guests are having the BEST NIGHT EVER!

  •  Well the stuff above, obvs.
  •  My killer guide to ‘Wedding Receptions’ (including ideas and games)
  •  Run sheet template (an Excel loverssss dream!)
  •  The ultimate reception planning questionnaire
  •  Tips and tricks for speeches
